Here in Northeastern Wisconsin we live amongst an abundance of beauty! With this weekly series “Wisconsin Parks Near Me” we take the opportunity to highlight our community parks we share. We have so many parks we narrowed our focused to a selection along the waterways we paddle (and we still can’t feature them all!). So check out this week’s park details featured below – pack your gear, fill up the picnic basket, don’t forget your hammock or fishing pole.
Address: 1650 Rainbow Drive, Oshkosh, WI 54901
Size: 17 acres
Description: Located just a short drive from downtown Oshkosh, Rainbow Park offers almost half a mile of Fox River shoreline. Enjoy access to fishing docks, picnic shelters, and playgrounds in the summer, and continue the fun into the winter months at the park’s outdoor ice rink! The park offers access for boats, kayaks, and all manner of watercraft with two docks. Fun fact: the Knaggs Ferry operated from Rainbow Park from 131-1847, which was the main cross-river transportation during that time.
