1. Do I need to have kayaking experience to come on a excursion?
Absolutely not! Our well trained guides will safely guide you on your outing, and safety is always our priority. People of all experience levels can come on a excursion and have a great time.
2. How long is a guided excursion?
Plan for three hours in total, with about two hours on the water and thirty minutes before and after for prepping the gear, transportation, a safety and paddling lesson, etc. Please note timing may vary with route, weather and speed of group!
3. What do I need to wear/bring?
Dress as if you are going to the beach. You may get wet, so wear comfortable, fast-drying clothing, and feel free to leave a towel in your car for when you return or use it as a cushion in your kayak. We recommend wearing layers so you have options if cool or hot. Other than that, just bring drink (non-alcoholic)/snack, a smile and a positive attitude!
4. What is your cancellation policy?
The sooner you let us know if you won’t make it, the better. Let us know at least 24 hours before launch and you will receive a full refund. In the case of extenuating circumstances or bad weather, we will also issue a full refund or reschedule.
5. What if the weather is bad on the day of my tour?
We do our best to go out every day, but if it is pouring rain, thundering/lightning, or too windy to kayak, we will contact you as soon as possible. We will try to rebook you to another day, but if you are not available, we will issue a full refund.
6. How much does it cost?
All guided excursions are $65/person. Price varies based on time for Independent Rentals. Check out Our Activities and click “Book Now” to see various options and prices. Discounts are available for larger bookings! 10+ receives 15% off and 25+ receives 20%.
7. Who are the guides, and what are their skills?
Our professional team consists of experienced kayakers and paddle boarders passionate about the water sports. With years of experience as outdoor leaders, we are skilled individuals qualified to ensure safety and fun for all.
8. Will I be comfortable, and will I get wet?
Most are comfortable, but we recommend bringing a seat cushion or towel for extra comfort. If we can help in any way we are happy to do so! You may get wet as you get in and out of the kayak, but you should stay fairly dry.
9. How stable are the kayaks, and what happens if I tip?
Our entire kayak fleet is extremely stable and tipping the kayak is challenging, but people do tip out every one in awhile. Most capsizes happen due to water fights or good goofing around. There should be no worries as safety is our number one concern!
10. Do I need to book in advance?
Booking at least 24 hours in advance is recommended. We try to accommodate same day bookings. The earlier a reservation is received provides our team more time to coordinate for a successful outing! We accept bookings a year in advance!
11. Is there an age limit?
Everyone who kayaks with us must sign a liability waiver. Parents/Guardians must sign for minors. For younger adventurers we recommend going with an adult in our stable tandem kayaks!
12. Can I bring my dog?
You know your dog best! For independent rentals dogs are definitely welcomed. We may have a doggy life vest, so please let us know. For guided excursions we recommend your furry friend stay at home.
